League Information
Our Metro and In-House Hockey Leagues are recreational leagues for kids that include one game and one practice per week (with the exception of holidays and special events). Our In-House League plays and practices only at UTC Ice. Our Metro League teams practice at UTC, however they compete against teams from other area rinks both at home and away.
Metro Hockey League is family fun program. We have team BBQs, end of the season Pizza Party and Awards Ceremony. We cap our seasons off with a parent/player hockey game and skills competition!
To make the most your Hockey experience, parents have the option of enrolling their kids in both Metro and In-House Leagues.
What’s Important!
There are three very important aspects of playing Hockey at UTC Ice:
- We are here to have fun!!! UTC Ice promotes great sportsmanlike conduct for players and parents.
- We like to keep our leagues and teams fair.
- We limit our team numbers so everyone gets to play! Because we have team player limits, most of our players are single and double shifted. Your son or daughter will play a lot of hockey NOT sit the bench. As parents you pay to have your kid play and that’s what UTC Ice delivers!!!
Hockey Coaching Staff
Our professional Hockey Coaching Staff maintain a fun, positive atmosphere while teaching the skills of the game. They are all USA Hockey certified and have extensive backgrounds in the sport.
Mandatory USA Hockey Membership
All Metro Players are required to be members of USA Hockey. It is a $40 fee, but free for kids 6 and under. Benefits include $25K of insurance if a player is injured during practices or games. Bring your copy with the bar code into the Box Office at time of enrollment.

Ultimate Power and Skills Clinic
Starting Thursday May 30th at 6:20pm Ultimate clinics will run through the summer. All clinics are an hour long and can be purchased a la carte or discounted when you buy multiple days.
UTC Ice offers Power Skating and Skills Clinics throughout the summer.
Power Skating clinics are specifically designed to improve basic and advanced skating skills. It focuses on stops, starts, edges and agility all while improving conditioning and strength! Skating is the most crucial part of the game and UTC Ice will give you the edge! Power Clinics are coached by some of the best, most experienced and not to mention, fastest staff in Southern California.
Our skills clinics are designed to improve puck handling, passing and shooting techniques. These clinics also touch on game strategy, but the emphasis is always focused on improving a player as a whole!

Game Schedule
Metro and In-House games are Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings. Metro Game schedules are posted and updated on UTCIce.com as well as emailed weekly to team parents.
